The KTG team has been successfully conducting assessments on facilities and infrastructure deemed critical to the security to the homeland, and institutions instrumental to the furtherance of US Foreign Policy abroad, for more than 20 years. Our years of experience are leveraged to ensure countermeasures at schools, and associated facilities, are in line with established standards or good-practices.
The SAFE approach to physical security at schools balances the need to provide a secure environment that is a deterrent for those with ill intent with the need to ensure that students and staff don’t feel like they are going into a prison on a daily basis.
The KTG team has developed our own baseline standards that allow us to thoroughly and systemically review security at schools. The assessment process looks at the concentric rings of protection – from outside to inside – that make up the school’s security posture. The assessment is thorough and provides a comprehensive look at the campus’s strengths and weaknesses from a physical security perspective.
The team also has extensive experience working within predetermined standards to conduct assessments of critical infrastructure, including educational institutions. If you are required to meet existing standards we are also able to work within that framework when conducting our assessments.
Once we complete a school assessment, regardless of the methodology used, we provide common sense, fiscally-prudent recommendations for improvements and upgrades. Additionally, we are capable of working with school districts to write grant requests to obtain funding for execution and implementation of security initiatives.
